Lucas David Echols

Luke was born on July 24, 1978 to Linda Pruett Echols and William David Echols, Jr. in Montgomery, Alabama. Luke graduated from Chapman Christian Academy in 1996. He went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Troy University in 2012. Luke spent his career working in the motorcycle and auto industry before he went on to start his own business as an independent contractor with Hunter Engineering.

Luke was highly active throughout his entire life, from childhood sports like baseball and football to more adventurous ones like dirt biking and motorcycle racing. Luke excelled at anything he put his mind to and always went above and beyond - in both his professional and personal life.

In 2013, Luke met Meg while he was working at BMW in Montgomery. Luke and Meg were passionate about adventure and experiencing the outdoors - spending much of their time hiking, mountain biking, backpacking, skydiving, wakeboarding, and snowboarding. Shortly after marrying, they decided to take on the ultimate adventure of starting a family and went on to have two children, Lena and Charlotte.

Luke is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph Aaron Pruett and Frances Roberta Pruett, and William “Bill” David Echols Sr. and Alma Inez Echols; uncles and aunts, Larry Echols, Pam Beck, Carol Summerlin and Charma Berdeaux.

He is survived by his wife, Meghan Kathleen Echols; daughters, Lena Elisabeth Echols and Charlotte Ellie Echols; parents, Linda Pruett Echols and William David Echols Jr.; and brothers, Michael Todd Echols (Catarina), Eric Benjamin Echols (Sheri), and Jonathon Adam Echols; uncles and aunts, Joey Pruett, Ray Echols, Brenda Burgess (Tommy). Luke also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and grandnephews.

Luke was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held at 1pm, service at 2pm at Leak Memory Chapel on Sunday, December 29, 2024. Following the service will be a burial at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery (3001 Simmons Drive, Montgomery, AL 36108).
