
Marcia Brock was born October 13, 1945, in Montgomery, AL, the daughter of Brooks Brock & Mildred (Waters) Brock.
Marcia attended and graduated from Lee High School, class of 1964. She was in the Art Club and found that she was an extraordinary artist.
Marcia was married in Montgomery, AL to Bruce Sanders in 1966. They had 3 children.
Marcia was a devoted Mother and Grandmother who loved to share her stories and art projects with her grandchildren. Marcia also enjoyed Genealogies and researching the gospel scriptures the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Marcia loved reading health research papers and discovering new ways to live a healthier life. Marcia loved painting landscapes and historical sites. One of her most beloved paintings was of the Montgomery Water Fountain on Dexter Avenue.
Marcia started working for Leon Lords right out of high school as the youngest as well as the only female artist painting and coloring oil portraits. She then worked at Brown & Root as a draftsman and in the blueprint shop till the early 1980s. Thereafter, Marcia was also a self-employed nutritionist, devoted to helping people to live happier and healthier life. Marcia worked as an Art teacher for The Girl Scouts of America for many years helping the children of Montgomery find their love of art until she retired in 2016.
Marcia Brock was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed her callings in Sunday school, Relief Society, and Genealogy Library.
Remaining and surviving to cherish Marcia’s memory are her three children: Brooksane Holmes (daughter) and her husband, Greg Holmes; Mark Sanders (son) and his wife, Mlieti Mulruts & Gena Sears (daughter) along with her husband, Al Sears. As well as, 10 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren and expecting twins.
A graveside funeral service will be held on 11 Sep 25 at 11:00 am at Montgomery Memorial Cemetery, in Montgomery, Alabama, 3001 Simmons Drive. Also, the family has been assisted by White Chapel Funeral Home, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama.
