

Pierce, Marie Yarbrough of Eclectic, originally of Vernon, AL, born January 9, 1932, passed away September 13, 2012, after an extended illness. Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Leslie Yarbrough, her brother, Hershel (Bobbie) Yarbrough, her sister, Evelyn(Herbert) Mims, and her nephew, Larry Turner. She is survived by her loving husband of over 63 years, James E. Pierce, her adoring daughter, Sandra Pierce-Hanna, both of Eclectic, her devoted son, Devin(Joy)Pierce, Wetumpka, three granddaughters, Erin (Ryan) Reece, Madison, Jama Marie Hanna, Eclectic, and Abbie Pierce, Wetumpka; her sister, Doris (Gene) Flynn, Hoover; nephews,
Ronald (Mary Anne) Flynn, Alabaster, Randy (Gale),Flynn, Hoover, Reverend Alan (Pam) Yarbrough, Selma; nieces, Beth(David) Shores, Memphis, TN, and Yolande Turberville, Birmingham, and a special cousin, Johnny (Shirley) Yarbrough. She is also survived by many relatives and dear friends. Marie was retired from the Montgomery Police Department after 20 years of service as a sworn school patrol woman, and from Montgomery Fair/Gayfers/Dillards, where she worked for 41 years. Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel from 5-7 p.m., on Tuesday, September 18, 2012. Her funeral service will be held at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. As per her request and desire, burial will be in the family plot on her land in Eclectic following the service. Pallbearers will be Charles Anderson, Joey Bocchino, James Center, Kevin Fuller, Richard Taylor, and Tim Wood.
