Brief Summary of our Life
Ladon and I have been blessed. After high school graduation I attended Business School and pursued my education in Business. I continued dating my senior sweetheart (Ladon). After business school I moved to Montgomery and started my first job. After finally convincing my sweetheart to leave Clayton and come to Montgomery to work, we were married at the First Baptist Church by Rev. Alvin Parks. Approximately three years later, at the age of 22 we had our first son and almost four years later we had our second son. I stayed at home with them until they got older and then I pursued a career working with the State of Alabama as a stenographer that lasted for approximately 27 years. Ladon began a career in air-conditioning and heating and worked with an incorporation for 30 years. He then went to work with the State of Alabama, Retirement Systems, and retired as building engineer of the Alabama Commerce Center Building in Montgomery. Our oldest son graduated from college and continued school and became a medical doctor. Our youngest son graduated from college, works with the State of Alabama and has an Appraisal Company. They both live in Montgomery, and they have wonderful Christian wives. They each have a son and a daughter. We spend lots of our time with the four grandchildren. Our greatest accomplishment would certainly have to be raising our sons to become God loving men. Some of our fondest memories are visiting our parents in Barbour County and helping take care of them in their golden years. Our senior sweethearts are still our sweethearts, and we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary last year at First Baptist Church Montgomery, where we remain active as of this writing. We have served in various capacities. We have lived in the same house and neighborhood for the last 45 years. Our favorite place to go before and since we retired from the state is to our place on Lake Martin. Our sons and their families enjoy it and we spend as much time there with family and friends as we do in Montgomery. God has really been good to us he has given us enough ups to feel truly blessed and enough downs to teach us to be humble. God is so good.
