

Jackson, Martha Ann Moore 91. She went to sleep and woke up in Heaven on August 20,2025. She was born to John Henry and Willie Mae Parker Moore on September 25,1933 in Montgomery, AL. She grew up in the Highland Gardens neighborhood and graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1951. After graduating she married and pursued her employment career as a secretary. She had great jobs over the years and retired from the Montgomery County Commission in 1996. She was a faithful member of Open Acres Baptist Church and loved serving the Lord in the nursery and the WMU. At 70 years old she moved to Prattville, AL with her daughter and family. She continued to serve the Lord at East Memorial Baptist Church. She loved and served the Lord first but her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren brough her great happiness.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 yrs Maxwell (Mac) W. Jackson, her parents John Henry and Willie Mae Parker Moore, her brothers and their wives: John H. and Annie Reale Moore Jr., William and Dorothy Moore, Perry and Stella Moore, Thomas and Billie Moore, and Robert and Elsie Moore. Also 3 sisters that died prior to her being born: Agnes E. Moore, Emily Marie Moore and one stillborn baby girl. Her Mother was so afraid that Martha would die too, but Martha was healthy and lived a long happy life. She lived to be the oldest, last living survivor of the Moore family.
She is survived by her 5 children: Jonathan(Renee) Jackson, Elizabeth Jackson, Michael/Jack(Vicki) Jackson, Steven Jackson and Lydia(Robert) Haigler. Her 6 grandchildren: Loren Jackson, Laura Mills, Patrick(Kristan) Haigler, Molly(Lee) Thomas, Amanda(Andrew) Jennings and Matthew(Caiti) Haigler. ..and her 12 great grand children: Madison Thomas, Brenen Thomas, Myla Jackson, Bailey Haigler, Caden Pate, Carter Haigler, Tyler Pate, Jace Jackson, Landon Jennings, Calloway Haigler, Hadleigh Jennings and Greyson Jackson. These were her "blessings upon blessings".
She is also survived by her sister in laws: Nina(Earl) Jackson Wiggins and Christine Jackson....50+ nieces & nephews and their families...."Aunt" Martha was very beloved.
Special thanks and love sent to her nephew Joe Moore who always called and made her laugh over the years. Our long-time family friend Joseph Cummings Jr. and her wonderful previous caregiver Cassandra Walker for such wonderful care and love to her.
Her smile, hugs, and kindness will be missed. Though she has left this world, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held on Monday August 25,2025 at East Memorial Baptist Church 1779 Fairview Ave. Prattville, AL @ the Hwy 14 and McQueen Smith intersection. Services at 12:00 with Earl B. Wise officiating with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery Montgomery, AL. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 prior to the service at the church.
