Mary Sue Carpenter Davis

Mary S. Davis, 80, passed away surrounded by her family on January 11th, 2015. She was born in Montgomery, AL on June 16th, 1934. She was married to the love of her life, Douglas C. Davis, on August 12th, 1949 for 55 years. Her hobbies included fishing, singing, and watching Alabama football and Braves baseball with her husband. During her life she was active in her church and choir, and enjoyed being a homemaker for her family. Mary is survived by her sisters, Patty (Carpenter) Goodnight and Claudia (Carpenter) Haisten; her sons Steve Davis, Charles Davis, and Donald Davis; her daughter Brenda (Davis) Holt; her Grandchildren Steven Davis, Nicole (Davis) Larsen, Elliot Davis, Michael Davis, Ashley (Holt) Whitehead, Christina Davis, and Sterlin Holt; and her six Great Grandchildren. Those who preceded her in death were her beloved husband, Douglas C. Davis, and five siblings. Flowers may be sent to Leak Memory Chapel, 954 Lincoln Road Montgomery, AL 36109.

The family believes that when someone passes their life does not end, but rather changes. We know that Mary has reached a place of everlasting peace alongside Jesus Christ. While we grieve her passing, with our grief comes the lightness of hope.
