Mary N. Leiner

Mary Nell Courson Leiner passed away at her home in Montgomery on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the age of 72 after battling pancreatic cancer. She was born in Opp, Alabama on November 17, 1940, to the late Cecil and Pearl Courson. She was one of 12 children, 6 boys and 6 girls. Mary was a very active member of St. Bede's Catholic Church and the P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization). Mary is survived by her loving husband George Leiner of 49 years. They were married on August 17, 1963. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Tina Leiner; daughter and son-in-law, Becky (Leiner) and Ty Story; and six grandchildren, John Thomas, Daniel, and Elizabeth Leiner; and Laura, Ansley, and Mary Grace Story. She is also survived by two brothers, Charles and John Courson; four sisters, Louise Lanier, Bette Bryan, Billie Jo Tillery, and Dottie Fleming; and many loving nieces, nephews and other relatives. A funeral mass will be held at St. Bede's Catholic Church, 3870 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL on Thursday, March 14 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be at St. Bede's Parish Hall one hour prior to start of funeral mass. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, 909 Lincoln Road, following mass. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to St. Bede's Catholic Church or to VistaCare Hospice (334)260-0015.
