Merrell Hanson Humphries

Humphries, Merrell Lee Massey Hanson, 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 3, 2011. Funeral services will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Greg Belser officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel at 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. She leaves behind her two daughters, Vicki Hendricks (Jim) & Tara DuBois (Marvin); daughter-in-law, Debbie Hanson; stepdaughter, Sherri Hartzog (Danny); nine grandchildren, Destin Priester (Brian), John Richard Hanson, III, Chip Handley, Hanson, Lane and Aaron DuBois, Tiffany, Skyler, and Savannah Hartzog; and one great grandchild, Linkin Priester. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Richard Hanson and Eldred Davis Humphries; her son, John Richard Hanson, II; her parents, Roland and Gussie Massey; two brothers, Ted and Jack Massey; and three sisters, Mildred, Ellene and Polly. She was a precious woman who was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was the true meaning of a Lady! Pallbearers will be her sons-in-law, Marvin DuBois, Jim Hendricks and Danny Hartzog; her grandsons, John Richard Hanson, III, Chip Handley, Hanson DuBois, Lane DuBois; nephews, Glenn Massey and Gary Nichols; and Brian Priester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Morningview Baptist Church. Arrangements under the direction of Leak Memory Chapel, Montgomery, AL.
