

Myrtle Spivey Norman, age 90, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, in Opelika, Alabama. She was born on December 7, 1935, in Louisville, Alabama, and spent many cherished years as a resident of Montgomery, Alabama.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, Corbitt Spivey and Julia Spivey; her sisters, Nadine Strickland, Frances Boyd, and Marie Hardy; and her brother, Don Spivey.
She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 65 years, James Edgar Norman; her son, Jimmy (Vicki) Norman; and her daughter, Susan (Eddie) Wallace. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Ryan (Nathaly) Norman, Kelsey (Hayden) Ellis, Taylor (Rachel) Norman, Julia (Hunter) Puckett, and Jared Norman; as well as her beloved great-grandchildren, Graham Ellis, Griffin Ellis, Blair Ellis, Baker Norman, Theo Norman, Brooklyn Puckett, Zander Norman, and Shepherd Norman. Myrtle is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she held dear.
Myrtle was a faithful member of University Church of Christ, where she found great joy in her community and her faith.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Norman, Taylor Norman, Jared Norman, Hayden Ellis, and Hunter Puckett.
A visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama, on April 21, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at the same location beginning at 11:00 am. A graveside service will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Myrtle will be remembered for her steadfast love, her gentle spirit, and the deep devotion she showed to her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness and faith will live on in all who knew and loved her.
