Nancy Delayne Shill

Layne Shill was a devoted wife to her husband John Shill and loving mother to daughter Robyn Cox, son-in-law Keith Cox, son Scott Shill, and daughter-in-law Ashley Shill. She was a proud grandmother to Sarah Cox and Logan Cox. Layne was the only child of the late Charles and Waunema Gleaton of West Blocton, AL.

Layne was born in Bessemer, AL and grew up in Hueytown, AL. She later moved to Montgomery, AL where she lived 47 years until her passing. She was a devoted homemaker who saw to every need of her family from cooking every meal to transporting kids to school and activities. She watched over her mother in the nursing home and tended to the other residents also. She was a devoted grandmother and tended to her grandchildren throughout their life.

A service to celebrate Layne’s life will be held on Monday, October 16th at 11 am at Leak Memory Chapel, located at 945 Lincoln Rd in Montgomery, AL. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects.
