With family at his side, CMSGT, USAF (ret.) Norman George Davidson, 82, of Montgomery escaped the confinements of mortality on Sunday, March 31st following a lengthy hospital stay. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 at White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 2:00 at White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will follow the services in Greenwood Cemetery. Norman, born in Bayonne, NJ, was the oldest of Norman and Mabel Davidson's 5 children. Early in his career with the Air Force, "Dave" flew on Lockheed's EC121 Constellation's as a radar specialist attached to the 551st Wing at Otis AFB. Their mission was to always have at least one of these radar equipped planes in the air, 24 hours a day patrolling the Eastern coastline. Dave's last assignment brought him to Montgomery where he was one of the instructors who opened and taught the first group of students at the NCO Academy. Dave's first priority was always family and he will forever be remembered by: his wife of 55 years, Angelina; sons, Norman of Phoenix, Nicholas of Las Vegas and Robert of Montgomery; daughter, Beverly Devries of Boonville, Kentucky; and numerous grandchildren. Also, brother Ronnie Davidson of Washington and sister Diane Terracciano of New Jersey.
