Ozie B. Owens was born September 20, 1940, in Ellaville, Georgia to Lue Wence and Tommy Terry-Baisden. She was one of seven children. She was married to Willie T. Owens and their union produced two sons, Thomas DeWayne Owens and Anthony Lamar Owens. Ozie and Willie were married for 57 wonderful years. Ozie and Willie were members of Grace Chapel on Maxwell Air Base.
Ozie worked in Civil Service for 20 plus years. career, as she lived on military bases with her husband while raising the family. Ozie was a 1959 graduate of John Lewis High School in Ellaville, GA. She and Willie, who was a 25 year veteran of the United States Air Force, served overseas in Europe and Asia which included Germany, Japan, Thailand, Korea as well as several states in the U.S. which included, Altus, OK Wichita, KS, Fort Walton Beach, FL, Montgomery, AL and Washington D.C.
Ozie and Willie loved taking family tours in foreign countries. She and Willie have traveled all over the world during their marriage. She loved listening to old R&B, Country and Jazz music, watching old westerns movies, visiting family, and meeting regularly with old military friends. She was also known for her famous homemade cakes and pies.
Ozie is survived by the following family members that will always love her; Her son, Thomas DeWayne Owens; her brother and sister in law, Eddie and Mary Louise Baisden; her brother in law, Charles Owens, Jr.; her daughter in law, Dolores Owens,, her grandchildren, Ryan Meehan, DeeAnn Otter, and Amanda Wernett, her granddaughter in law, Kerri Meehan, and grandson in law, Kenneth Otter. Her great-grandchildren, Vivica Strong, Skylar Meehan, Trillion Meehan, Beckett Otter, Arrington Otter, Killion Wernett and Aisling Wernett. Ozie is also survived by her aunt Louise White and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Services for Ozie B. Owens are scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Leak Memory Chapel. A visitation at 1:00pm and a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00pm will be followed by a graveside service at greenwood Serenity Cemetery.

Daughter of Lue Wence and Tommy Terry Baisden. Siblings, Arthur Baisden, Tommy Lou Baisden-Payne, Eddie Cole Baisden, Myra Baisden, Myrtis Baisden, and Eddie Baisden.
Growing up, Ozie was a member of Oak grove Baptist Church in Ellaville, GA. She was educated and a graduate of John Lewis High School.
