

Pearl A Guier, age 97, of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023. A school teacher who grew up in the Jacksonville, Alabama area, she is survived by her son, James "Butch" Wesley Guier, Jr. She leaves behind may nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
Pearl is preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Maude Arnett; her husband of 29 years, James Wesley Guier Sr.; and her siblings, Hoyt, Offa, Uel, Raymond, Bill and Nell.
Living through the depression and WW II, Mrs. Guier knew hard times. She ate a lot of dried beans growing up and saw a need to share with others so that people would not be hungry. Butch requested in lieu of flowers, contributions in Pearl's memory may be made to your local food bank.
Pearl loved to travel and helped an aunt who served as a travel agent. Pearl would handle the luggage so her aunt could help the clients. Both were pleased with the trips and the opportunity to see new places. Pearl delighted in sacred harp singing typical of the area she grew up in. She was also a member of Dalraida Baptist Church and active in her Sunday School Class.
A family and friends visitation for Pearl will be held Monday, September 25, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. Following the family and friends visitation will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens, 909 Lincoln Rd, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.
