Rebecca Juanita Leverette

Rebecca Leverette, age 73, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024, at Jackson Hospital. Born Rebecca Juanita Morrell on July 12, 1951, in Butler County, AL, Becky earned her degree in cosmetology in 1979 and gave excellent haircuts. While Becky battled many serious health problems throughout her life, including cancer and congestive heart failure, she still spent most of her year's caretaking for any family or friend in need. Beloved by all who knew her, Becky was a natural beauty with a zest for life, a passion for her garden and pets, and helping anyone she could.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Stanley; stepfather, Robert Stanley; step grandmother, Lois Sexton; brothers, Tommie Morrell, Cliff Morrell (Deb), Henry Morrell, Mike Morrell; aunt, Joyce Faye Grant, and best friend, Ivalene “Ivy” Abrams (Richard). She is survived by sisters, Judy Connell (Tony), Linda Sue Hubbard; cousin, Gary Wayne Thomas; nieces and nephews, Christy McCloud (O'Neil), Audrey Campbell, Brandy Brown (P-Nut), Kerri Edwards (Brad), Linsey Haynes, Jacob Morrell, Jessica Durbin (Chris), many great nieces and nephews; extended family, Linda Hull Morrell, Michael Goodin, Heather Abrams, Karla Snider (Boone), Katherine Leathers; special friends, Sandra Herrington, “Mama Jane” Berg, Kenny Colvin, and many more dear friends.

Becky's ashes will be laid to rest at the family cemetery in Greenville, AL. A celebration of life gathering held by the family will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Linda Sue Hubbard.
