Robert (Jim) Gene Cook, beloved husband, daddy, granddaddy, and great granddaddy, went to be with the Lord on April 12, 2017. Jim was born on February 2, 1934. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War who loved gospel music and picking his guitar. He loved Auburn football! His profession was as a lab supervisor in the the treatment of wood products. Preceded in death by parents Hershel and Lois Cook, brother, Kenneth, and sister, Bobbie Ann.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Nelson Cook, his son, Randall Williams(Tammy), his daughter, Cathy Varner(Jimmy), grandchildren Brittney Ziemba (Lee), Luke Williams(Kera), Garrett Guthrie , and McKenzie Williams, great grandchildren, Eva Grace, Smith, and Eli, sisters Jackie Budd, Peggy Sue Smith, and Linda O'Daniel. Graveside service on Monday, April 17, 2017, at 11am, Greenwood Serenity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send a contribution to First Baptist Church of Montgomery, benefiting the Nehemiah Center.
