

Sasser, Robert E., age 79, died in Montgomery, Alabama on December 13, 2023. He was a 1962 graduate of Dothan High School and a 1967 graduate of Auburn University, where he was a member and President of Sigma Alpha Epsilon social fraternity. He graduated from Cumberland Law School with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1970. Following four years of service in the USAF JAG Corps, Robert practiced law in Montgomery for over 50 years. He served on the Board of Directors of the Montgomery Country Club, was a Deacon at Trinity Presbyterian Church and was active in civic and business affairs in Montgomery. Robert loved spending time at Lake Martin with his family and in Apalachicola with his friends.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ollie K. Sasser of Dothan, Alabama. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Clements Sasser. Robert is also survived by his son, Robb Sasser (Christi) of Montgomery, Alabama, and daughter, Karon Staples (Barry) of Birmingham, Alabama, and grandchildren, Kirby Sasser, Lib Staples and Jack Staples. He is also survived by Eleanor and Richard Kohn and numerous nieces and nephews.
On Tuesday, December 19th, visitation will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. There will be a graveside service for family and close friends at Greenwood Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Steve Fox Sunday School class at Trinity Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1728 S. Hull Street, Montgomery, Alabama 36104, or the charity of your choice.
