Mitchell, Sandra Joyce, 58, lifelong resident of Montgomery, Alabama, died peacefully on December 13, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Mitchell. She is survived by her father, Charles Mitchell, her sister Mary (Phillip) Payne, her brother John (Jill), her five nephews who were the loves of her life and one very special great niece, Lilly. She is also survived by her special cousin Bonnie Davis and her two children, John and Cassandra. A service in celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11am with Reverend Jim Peters officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Michael Ritch, John Mitchell, Jr., Robert Mitchell, Mitchel Payne, Brady Mitchell, James Harris and Danny Clarke. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Eclectic, AL. The family wishes to extend their grateful appreciation to the loving staff of the Cancer Care Center, especially Dr. David G. Morrison and Dr. Khalid Matin. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Autism Speaks. “God saw her getting tired, a cure not meant to be, so he put his arm around her and whispered come home with me.”
