Sara C Cooper

Sara Chisolm Cooper, 87, a resident of Hayneville died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 3:00 pm from the Hayneville Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at Hayneville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm prior to the service. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Sam Cooper, Sr.; children, Sam Cooper, Jr. (Emily), Donny Cooper (Ceil Ann), Becky Oakes (John Allen), Cathy Sellers (Terry); two sisters, Mary Dantzler (Jim) and Becky Hutto (Bill); brother, Patrick Chisolm (Nancy); nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. P.D. Chisolm and sister, Eleanor Gant (Ned). Memorial contributions may be made to the Hayneville Presbyterian Church. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her nephews and the officers of the Hayneville Presbyterian Church. Her teaching career spanned more than 30 years. She taught at the following elementary schools, Fort Deposit, Hayneville, Catoma and Lowndes Academy. Arangements under the direction of Leak Memory Chapel, Montgomery, AL.
