Sara Ann Cosby King

Passed away peacefully at home and went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 21, 2011 at the age of 106. She was born January 3, 1905 in Montgomery, Alabama. She was a long time member of College Grove Community Church. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Patrick Riley, will be Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 11:00 at White Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 10:00 prior to the funeral. The family will receive friends and family at this time. She was preceded in death by her Husband of 60 years, Reverend Grady P. King, Sr.; sons, Grady P. King, Jr., Charles Dewitt King, and Richard Eugene King. She also was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Gail Ann Price Lewis, Robert Blake King and Martin Joseph King; two brothers, Thomas B. Cosby and Stanley Cosby; nine sisters; Lucille Cosby Bush, Florence Cosby Young, Louise Cosby Sedinger, Katie Sue Cosby, Ada Blue Cosby, Leatha Cosby Pierce, Hattie Mae Cosby Roberts and Ellen Cosby Hinton. She is survived by one daughter, Goldie Bernice King Price; and one son, James Arthur King (Linda;) and daughter-in-law Loretta Glasscock King; 18 Grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 44 great great grandchildren. For the last 14 years she has had two very special care givers, her son, James Arthur King and his loving wife, Linda Coley King. The family would like express great thanks and love for the loving home they made for Sara. Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Heilman, Matthew Heilman, Heath Jernigan, Matthew Martin, Travis Price and Ryan Price. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice for the great care and help they provided during her final years.
