Sondra Bush Oliver

November 26,1958- May 28, 2025

Sondra, beloved wife, mother, and Mimi passed away May 28, 2025. She was born in Montgomery, AL to Malcolm and Betty Bush. Although she was an only child, she had her Wright cousins and her best friend, Renee Barker, who were like siblings. Sondra was married to her high school sweetheart, Frank Oliver, for almost 50 years. Together they raised three wonderful children, Tripp (Sarah), Laura (Adam), and Caitlin (Phillip). Her favorite role and greatest joy was being Mimi to her 11 grandchildren, Duncan, Jack, Bowie, River, Charlie, Emily, Elouise, Colin, Wiley, Vera and Norman.

Sondra loved taking care of others. She was a preschool teacher in her childrens’ early years and once her children were older she could be found volunteering at their school. She was a stay at home mom to her three children and never missed a ballgame, dance recital or performance. Once grandchildren came along she could be found spending time with them as much as possible. You could always count on Sondra fabulously decorating the house for every holiday. Her Christmas sweets were always a hit with everyone. Sondra and Frank enjoyed spending their time working in the yard, playing with their dog Barney, and participating in craft shows. Frank loved Sondra’s cooking (because it was amazing!)

Sondra was preceded in death by her parents Malcolm and Betty Bush. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank Oliver, their children, grandchildren, and many friends and family.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the National Kidney Foundation in Sondra’s name. Also, consider being an organ donor as Sondra’s kidney transplant in 2014 saved her life.

A visitation will be held Monday, June 2 at 9:30 with service to follow at 11:00 at Leak Memory Chapel in Montgomery, Alabama. Family Graveside to follow.
