Born in Montgomery on October 1, 1969, He spent his life loving people, music, laughter, and God’s creation. Stewart was first a worshiper of Jesus, His Lord, and loved being part of Church of the Highlands, Montgomery, worshiping and serving there. He was also a self-proclaimed foodie and enjoyed sharing a good meal with family and friends. He spent the last 5 years of his life as a dedicated music teacher and technology specialist at LEAD Academy, a Public Charter School.
Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Mary Helms Hobbie. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sharon Ebersole Hobbie; oldest son and daughter-in-law, Joshua Caleb & Ashley Hobbie; daughter, Lizzie Corrie Hobbie; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca & Caleb Benson; youngest son, Samuel Hobbie; and one step-grandson, Jacob. He is also survived by his two siblings and their spouses, Phelen “Phil” & Debra Hobbie and Susan & Mark Isaman as well as many nephews, nieces and their families.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 29, at 12 noon at Church of the Highlands, Montgomery, with Pastor Chris Erwin officiating. Time for visitation with the family will follow the service.
