Tanya and I met at VSU in 1994 the day she arrived on campus and we were assigned a small office space to share. That was the beginning of a 24 year relationship as friends, colleagues, and family. We worked together on projects, presentations, traveled together, supervised  together, had weekly lunches together and simply shared the ups and downs that life brought to each of us, Throughout this past year she has been the most positive individual in her fight for her life. She loved God and shared her faith often and was looking forward to her heavenly promise. Although we are left to remember her and the legacy that she left at the VSU Speech and Hearing Clinic we all know that she is in a much better place now and is pain free! Sincere condolences to her family and friends as we all face the rest of our lives without such a wonderful person.

It is not  easy thinking of Tanya not being with us.  I have know Tanya for 23 years here at VSU.  She started working at the institution a year before I did and welcomed me with open arms.  We both watched the program grow and developed into an awesome program.  Many students have come and gone and can reflect on her supervising them in the clinic and teaching them "Phonetic" in a very interesting way with lots of fun while learning a new skill.  I never saw students who liked "Phonetics" until Tanya took over the class.  Just as she like movies, she brought that excitement into the classroom.  For the students who could not get it all during class she had tutoring sessions set up for them.  She wanted to provide every opportunity that she could for them to be successful.  As a Faculty member, she was easy to work with, was always a team player, liked things to be organized with the proper grammar and punctuation and she was always current on information.  She was consistent and had a pattern for how things should be done.   She always had a smile even when she disagreed with you.   Though her illness we learned so much and admired her positive attitude and her strong Faith.  She was courageous and never detoured on her journey.  I could see the scriptures in her life and I pray that I can be that courageous and faithful to the end.  

I was so privileged to have Tanya for a friend!   She was such an inspiration to me - a fine Christian lady.  So kind to everyone.  I will certainly miss her and especially at church services at Dasher Church of Christ.  I pray for God’s comfort and  peace to be bestowed on her family and friends and especially her mother in the loss of Tanya!

It's hard to imagine the CSD program without Ms. Enloe! I was fortunate enough to know her in two different roles. She was my supervisor at LARC for two quarters while I was in school at Valdosta State University (VSU) and then she was my friend and colleague while I worked at VSU. It's actually unusual to have the same supervisor for two quarters, but Irene (my client at LARC) made such remarkable progress during my first quarter that we decided it would be nice to keep the momentum going. At the end of that second quarter, Irene, who was only in her fifties, passed away suddenly of a heart attack. Ms. Enloe shared the news with me with great compassion and we found comfort in knowing that we had made the last six months of her life more enjoyable. Ms. Enloe, I hope you find Irene in heaven and give her a big hug! Maybe she will tell you a story about going to Pick'n Save, her favorite store in Valdosta.  

When I returned to VSU as a faculty member, Ms. Enloe welcomed me back home, shared course materials with me, and helped me navigate life on the other side of academia. But even as a colleague and friend, I have a hard time calling her "Tanya" because of her influential role in my career.  My heart goes out to Ms. Enloe's family and our VSU family!

I met Tanya in 1979 at Harding University.  She became my best friend; so different and yet so alike.  Even though we eventually lost touch with each other, she remained in my heart.  God blessed all of us with her.  Even though she is now in heaven, I know everyone will miss her.  I pray that God will comfort her earthly family as well as her Christian family, which if you know the Enloes, is pretty much the same thing.  I know he will.  May God hold you in the palm of his hand until we meet again.

I met Ms. Enloe during my undergraduate studies at Valdosta. It was obvious she was meant to be a teacher and she enjoyed sharing her knowledge with others. Ms. Enloe taught us skills such as "phonetic transcription." In other words, she taught us how to transcribe sounds into symbols. It was a tough skill to learn but the way she taught made it fun. I am so blessed to have met Ms. Enloe and I'm thankful I've gotten to know her over the years in school. I feel like I'll always carry a part of her with me because of the knowledge and skills she has taught me. Thoughts and prayers to family and friends of such a sweet and beautiful soul. 

Ms. Enloe was a woman truely dedicated to her faith. Not only was she one of my professors and clinical supervisors, she was a sweet friend. Through the fight of her own, she checked in on me multiple times during the passing of my daddy. Without a doubt, I know she’s happy and pain free today. God bless you Ms. Enloe, you were loved very much by so many of us. 

Ms. Enloe was my professor for both undergraduate and graduate education at VSU for Speech Language Pathology. Her passion for our field was contagious and she pushed me to be better every single day. I will never forget her stories, her love for Mountain Dew, or the impact she had on my life and my career. Sending all my love and prayers to her family. 

Ms. Enloe was my clinical supervisor during my first semester in graduate school at Valdosta State University. She was strict in her teaching but she was also very kind and because of her I learned a lot that first semester about how to be a proper clinician. She has passed her wisdom not only to me but other students as well and for that I am grateful. 

Tanya was one of my very best friends. I have received some wonderful advice from her thru the years. I enjoyed our telephone conversations, dinners, getting our make over, and going to the movies so much, however, I did not enjoy the scary movies like she did! She was my inspiration while we were on our cancer journey together. I will miss her each and every day. I loved her dearly! 

Miss Enloe was my clinical supervisor in 2012. She was always so upbeat and passionate about our clients and helping me learn to serve them better as a student clinician. I will forever be grateful for the time spent with her and learning from her. Prayers being sent to the family. 

I had the pleasure of learning from Ms. Enloe during my time at Valdosta State University while studying to be a Speech-Language Pathologist. She was tough but passionate, which was contagious, and she was always so patient no matter how many times we asked her to repeat herself so we could get the notes down (she talked fast!). Even after phonetics, I would still go to her for guidance in clinicals, and she always made time for me. She was a beautiful person with a kind and sincere heart. She has impacted my life and my career as an SLP greatly and will never be forgotten. Every single time I use the Goldman Fristoe Test of Articulation, I will think of her. Thank you to her family for sharing her with us all the way in Valdosta. You all will be in my prayers in the days ahead. May God give you comfort and peace. 

Ms. Enloe was a professor of mine at Valdosta State University. She had such a passion for the profession of Speech Pathology. She always had time to answer questions and share ideas. She always made me feel like I was doing my best and believed in me. I will be forever grateful for all she taught me. 

Mrs. Enloe was one of my professors at Valdosta State University. While her student, I experienced the death of my mother and Mrs. Enloe was always a warm smile and listening ear on top of being a great teacher during that time. I will never forget her for going above and beyond  teaching me to become a good SLP and ministering to me outside of class. God touched my life through her and I am thankful that I was blessed to know her. 

Ms. Enloe was a wonderful mentor during my time at Valdosta State University. She was such an advocate for our profession and she was a passionate teacher and leader! I was so fortunate to know her and learn from her. She will be greatly missed! 

Miss Enloe was one of the first professors I had at Valdosta State when I started my coursework for Speech-Language Pathology. You could tell from the beginning how much passion she had for teaching. She was a wonderful phonetics teacher. She never hesitated to call us out when we made an error :) She wanted us to be successful and represent VSU well! She had a patient and sweet demeanor about her all the time. 

I became acquainted with Tanya when my sister-in-law, Paula Jo Carpenter had been stricken with cancer and I was her primary caregiver. She kept telling me that I just had to meet Tanya. That she was funny, determined, could be a little outspoken and a wonderful Christian woman. As I got to know Tanya I discovered she was all of those things, but so much more. She and I shared many a tear over Paula, because that is what friends do. Tanya was a special lady, one of a kind. She is smiling now, pain free and waiting and preparing for the rest of her family someday. I will not forget Tanya. She was loved by so many. She will be truly missed. Love and prayers to all the family and friends.
