

Terry was born in Tennessee to the late Milton and Joyce Bentley. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
Terry served in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. During his service, he earned the following medals: defense meritorious service medal, meritorious service medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, AF commendation medal, joint meritorious unit, AF outstanding unit award with 4 oak leaf clusters, AF organizational excellence award with 1 oak leaf cluster, combat readiness medal, armed forces service medal, AF overseas ribbon short with 1 oak leaf cluster, AF overseas ribbon long, AF longevity service with 6 oak leaf clusters, small arms expert marksmanship ribbon (pistol), AF training ribbon with 1 oak leaf cluster, and the NATO medal.
After his retirement, he continued to work at Maxwell AFB as a professor for the USAF Air Command and Staff College.
In his free time, he enjoyed reading, history, and watching Star Trek and Perry Mason.
Terry is survived by his wife of 14 years, Mi Hee Sim; his children, Daniel Bentley (Becca), Bruce Bentley (Britney), and Stephen Bentley (Courtney); his sister, Debbie Henson (Tim); and his former wife and mother of his children, Susan Bentley.
A visitation for Terry will be held Tuesday, May 27 at 4:00 PM at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL 36109. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM. A graveside committal service will be held Wednesday, May 28 at 11:00 AM (EST) at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 AL-165, Fort Mitchell, AL 36856.
