After finding the Lord in 1994, Tim became a man after God’s own heart. He was an active member of Frazer United Methodist Church. He spent his life in service to others, whether it be at work in his 35 years in the automobile industry or in Frazer’s camera crew ministry. His life was most definitely a picture Jesus laid out for all of us to serve others. His gift of evangelism was such impact on the prisoners that he ministered to on Tuesday nights. He was so excited every week to share the love of Christ. His heart was so big it held everyone he met. He never met a stranger and instantly loved them. He had the gift of laughter and generosity. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Lynn (Shutes) Benefield. Between them, they have 5 adult children, Shannon (Alice) Benefield, April (Jason) Warren, Alicia (Tim) Osborne, Jeff (Carrie) McKinney, and April (Kevin) Jones. They have 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by his father Jim Benefield. He is preceded in death by his mother Faye Benefield and his brother Keith Benefield.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 4:30 with a visitation at 3:30 at Frazer United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Frazer Prison Ministry or Frazer Television Ministry.
