

He is preceded in death by his devoted wife Barbara Ann Day Wood of 55 years.
He is survived by his daughters, Toni Anne Wood, Gwen Wood Emery (Frank), Joshulyn Carol Day (Buster), Barbara Sue Wood, his son Tony R. Wood, Jr. (Cindy); grandchildren Meredith Payne (Bill), Exa Allinder, Lillian Dupree, Rachel Hagemann (Jeff), Arthur Day, Lydia Robinson (Jared), Owen Emery, many great grandchildren and his life-long friend Carolyn Hall.
As a young man, our father served in the military as a Marine in WWII. He was also a man of many talents. Prior to accepting a position in Montgomery, Alabama as the Art Director for NBC, WSFA he worked with Martin Theatres in Columbus, GA. as a Commercial Artist. In his role at WSFA he hosted the TV show “How Do You Do It” with Betsy Plummer and later Idell Brooks. He was one of the founders and first president of the Montgomery Art Guild, photo journalist for Auburn University football games, set designer for the Fantasia Mardi Gras Balls, Mental Health Art Director for the State of Alabama, photographer for the George Lindsey Special Olympics, and entertained children as the character “Toby the Clown”. He also was commissioned by the State of Alabama to create Seals for both the State Senate and Alabama House of Representatives.
A family and friends visitation was held February 17th from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. at Leak Memorial followed by a graveside service with Pastor Jim Ingram of Trinity Assembly of God officiating.
