

Viola H. Ludden 83, a lifelong resident of Montgomery Al. died peacefully on Wednesday January 24, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Forest E. Ludden, her parents Clayton and Lomax Hudson, sister Maurine Alford and aunt Mary D. Mosley.
She is survived by her children Ivy(Donnie) Davis, Fitzpatrick, Al; Charles P. Heath, Jr (Robin), Wetumpka, Al; grandchildren Ashley Moore, and Hunter Heath, and great grandson Monty Moore.
Viola is also survived by the loving children of her late husband Forest, Sandra(Jim) Donovan, Prattville, Al; William(Lori) Ludden, Memphis, Tn; James(Deborah) Ludden, St. Charles, MO; and their children Jennifer(Ryan) Street, Houston, Tx; David(Stephanie) Donovan, Montgomery, Al; Jessica(Adam) Strickland, Birmingham, Al; Danielle Bayliss, Arvada CO; Alicia(Nate) Schlatter, Columbia MO; and Matthew Ludden, Columbia, MO. Great grandchildren Grant and Victoria Street, Mary Harris and Carter Donovan, Bailey Strickland, Avery and Jacob Schlatter and Cameron Neubaur. Viola was born in Montgomery, Al. on May 24, 1940. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1958.
She married Forest in 1977 and after they both retired from the Al. Dept. of Public Health, they realized and enjoyed many of their travel dreams; such as visiting all 50 state capitals and cruising to many foreign nations, often traveling with lifelong friends. Vi (as she was affectionately called) enjoyed the life she had with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and caring friend. She was a godly lady that loved the Lord and a devoted member of Eastmont Baptist Church since the early 1980's.
Among many of the other special people in her life were her nephew Charles Alford, Jr. (Janice) and their family, and her lifelong friend Patsy Nelson.
The family of Viola would like to thank the aide's of Answered Prayer, Baptist Hospice (Her nurse Angie and aide Brenda) and the staff, nurses and aides of Wetumpka Health and Rehab.
Service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Leak Memory Funeral Home with visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery at 11:00am.
