
Virginia Marie Irwin, 93, a resident of Montgomery, died peacefully Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Crowne Health Care of Montgomery. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bedes Catholic Church with her grandson, Father Den Irwin presiding. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Burial will follow in St. Margaret's Cemetery. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Arthur F. Irwin, and her grandson, Ryan Watson Frazier. She is survived by her two sons Dr. J. David Irwin, Sr. (Edie), Auburn and Dr. Michael D. Irwin, Sr. (Lynne), Montgomery, grandchildren, Geri Frazier (Dr. Bruno), Atlanta, John D. Irwin, Jr. (Julie), Atlanta, Laura Irwin, Auburn, Father Den Irwin, Troy, Allison Rumore (Charles), Birmingham; great-grandchildren, Andrew Frazier, John David Irwin III, Abi Irwin, Charles Anthony Rumore, Jr., Dominic Rumore, Mary Margaret Rumore, Andrew Rumore, Thomas Rumore, Sarah Catherine Rumore, David Rumore, Stephen Rumore, and Ben Rumore. Virginia was born July 30, 1921 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Marie Helland Farnham and Albert Carl Iverson. Virginia was a lifelong member of St. Bede Catholic Church and was active in St. Ann's Altar Circle, and the Jarrow Club. Her greatest legacy, however, was her love and loyalty to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Virginia and Arthur were companions for life and when "Papa's" health was failing, she cared for him with true devotion. Pallbearers will be her grandson, John Irwin, her grandsons-in-law, Dr. Bruno Frazier and Charles Rumore, Sr., great grandsons Andrew Frazier and John David Irwin III and brother-in-law Ray Allen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 3870 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36109.
