

Virginia Hollon Moore- age 80, of Wetumpka, Alabama passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 18, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Virginia was born on May 15, 1936 and was employed with Carlton McLendon Furniture Company as a hand carver of Victorian furniture for many years and retired from Kimball Furniture Company in 1998. Virginia was a faithful member of New Home Baptist Church where she truly served the Lord. She was a loving, devoted mother, sister, and friend, always putting others before herself. She was the epitome of selflessness and unconditional love. Our family is grateful and wish to celebrate how she inspired all of our lives and showed us how to be humble, strong, and charismatic at the same time. She had the most generous, loving heart and touched many lives with her presence. She had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life. Virginia enjoyed spending time with her children, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Carrie Lee Hollon, brother, Floyd Hollon, of Baltimore, Maryland. Survived by loving sister, Louise Polka and brother in law, Dale Polka of Bon Secour, Alabama; son and daughter in law, Gerald Moore and Wendy Moore of Tomball, Texas; son Robert Moore of Kingsland, Georgia, daughter and son in love, Linda Moore and Mike Surles, of Wetumpka and Prattville, Alabama; daughter, Anita Morris, of Douglasville, Georgia; daughter, Patricia Moore of Atlanta, Georgia. Grandchildren; Phillip Moore, Raymond Moore, Rob Moore, Matt Moore, Jessica Morris, and Jesse Morris, Jr. Great-grandchildren; Ryleigh Moore, Eli Moore, and Kamden Morris.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Virginia touched are invited to New Home Baptist Church, 5130 Elmore Road, Highway 14, Wetumpka, Alabama on September 23, 2016. Viewing will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will be from 1:30-2:30 p.m. to reminisce, grieve, support each other, and to remember wonderful times with Virginia.
A funeral service is scheduled at White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home located at 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama at 10:00 a.m. on September, 24, 2016. Pastor Eric Sutton will officiate. Pallbearers will be: Dale Polka, Mike Surles, Rob Moore, Jesse Morris Jr., Phillip Moore and Raymond Moore.
