DeGrasse, Walter F. Sr., 80, of Montgomery, AL passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2010. He was known for WALT’S Diner, which he owned and operated for forty seven years. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty seven years, Eleanor DeGrasse, and his mother, Lottie Anna Murphy. He is survived by four children, Cheryl (Kenny) Talley, Millbrook, AL; Evelyn (Jerry) Green, of Florida; Louise (Arthur Ray) Blackwell, Luverne, AL; Walt (Linda) Degrasse Jr., Montgomery, AL; twenty one grandchildren, forty great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dan Nuss, Greg Wade, Greg Garrison, Steve McPherson, Billy Donivan, Gene Smith, Cody Cox and William Wade. The family would like to than the Doctors, Nurses and the staff of Baptist South Hopsice, Charleston Place Nursing Home and the church members of Millbrook Baptist for the help and care they all gave. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Mike Ingram officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening at White Chapel-Greenwood from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
