DUKE, William Ernest, 92, a resident of Crestview, Florida, died Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Parthenon Healthcare Facility of Crestview, Florida. He served in both the Army and Air Force. He was a veteran of the Normandy invasion at Utah Beach. Mr. Duke is survived by his son, William James Duke and his wife Rosanna of Prattville, Alabama, two daughters, Christine Shifflett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Mary Ann Scott and her husband Michael of Crestview, Florida. He is also survived by four granddaughters and two grandsons. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McGehee Road Baptist Church of Montgomery. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Leak-Memory Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with military honors.
