William B. Hatcher, MSGT, Ret., USAF, 76, a resident of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014. Visitation will be on Monday, November 3, 2014 at White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home from 10:00AM – 11:00AM, with funeral services beginning at 11:00AM. Burial will take place at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL at 2:00PM. While in the Air Force, MSGT Hatcher was a weather observer and later became club manager at Maxwell and Gunter AFB. He also had his private pilots’ license and was an instructor at Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina. Bill was also a Realtor/Broker on Lake Martin for more than 10 years. Along with his brothers and his longtime friend, Ed Travis, his true passion was playing golf. Bill was born on December 14, 1937 in Beckley, WV to the late Roy Earl Hatcher and Hazel Ringstaff Hatcher. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sharleen Inabinet; and his brother, Roy Earl Hatcher, Jr. Bill is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Klein-Hatcher; son, Richard Hatcher; brother, Donald Hatcher (Jan); Sylvia P. Scarlett, who was married to Bill for 28 years and had 3 children; son-in-law, Bert Inabinet; grandchildren, Daniel Evans, Rachel Evans, Andrew King, Bailey Inabinet, and Brittney Hatcher. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Bill Hatcher.
