

MOSELEY, William Earl, 83, a lifelong resident of Montgomery, passed away peacefully at home, Friday, March 30, 2012, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and a recent brief illness. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps from 1945 to 1949, where he played trombone in the band. After his discharge from the Army, he went to work for the United States Postal Service where he worked until his retirement in 1983. He then decided to return to school and obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Huntingdon College. He had many hobbies and interests, including photography, painting and artwork, reading, listening to and playing music. One of his paintings won a ribbon at the South Alabama State Fair. He loved to travel the Southeast and visit historic sites, taking his family on many road trips. He had a zest for life and was quite a character. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving him are his wife of 53 years, Betty Moseley, and one daughter and son-in-law, Alicia and David Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Albert Moseley and Bama Lee Jones Moseley Bodiford; daughter, Leslie Moseley; sister, Berta Blalock; and brother, Louis Moseley. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to his special caregivers during the last months of his life, Gerald Wright and Jean Davis.
Funeral services will be at Greenwood Funeral Home on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
