Willie M. Mitchell, 95, a longtime resident of Montgomery, AL passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012. A veteran of WWII, he served in the Army Air Corps and was a retired accountant for New Mac Construction. He was a member of First Assembly. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Mitchell, three daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Ken Brannon of Pryor, OK; Becky and Charles Smith of Savannah, GA; and Judy and Sam Armstrong of Jacksonville, FL; 6 grandchildren; Christy Richards, Suzanne Lawrence, Michelle Clements, Cheryl Smith, Mark Smith, and Samantha Armstrong; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Mae Greer of Perry, GA; 3 nieces; Geneva Davis, Martha Jo Johnson, and Brenda Evans; and 6 nephews; Ronnie Greer, Tim Greer, Tommie Lee Mitchell, Steve Bohon, Billy Mitchell and Leron Carnes. He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his daughters, Pearl Naomi Mitchell; his parents, William R. and Eula Mitchell; brother, Tom Watson Mitchell; and two sisters, Lula Carnes and Lavern Bohon. The funeral service will be at White Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 2pm, immediately followed by interment with military honors at Greenwood Cemetery.
