August Puspur

C’est dans la paix et la sérénité qu’August Puspur nous a quittés le 21 novembre, à l’aube de ses 94 ans. Père de Sofia, Kristine (André Lamontagne) et feu David. Beau-père de Renda Lasdin. Grand-père de Joël Karim, Amélia et Sabrina. Fidèle compagnon de Andra Lasdin depuis 26 ans. Ex-mari de feu Françoise Parent, mère de ses enfants. Innovateur et entrepreneur, il sera resté actif, autonome et lucide jusqu’à la fin. Reconnu pour son intégrité, son honnêteté et son éthique de travail, August, né à Liepna en Lettonie, fut un pilier de la communauté des Lettons de Montréal pendant plus de 50 ans, fermement engagé dans la cause lettonne. Cet engagement n’est égalé que par son amour pour la terre, qu’il a cultivée à St- Joseph-du-Lac, où il a planté plus de 4000 pommiers. Il a démontré ce même dévouement envers ses clients dans le domaine des assurances, ce qui lui a valu la réussite en tant que courtier indépendant. Un remerciement particulier au Dr Richard Gallo pour son attention bienveillante. La famille recevra les condoléances au salon funéraire Collins Clarke MacGillivray White (5610, rue Sherbrooke Ouest, Montréal, Québec H4A 1W5 le samedi), 28 novembre 2015, de 12 h à 14 h, suivi des obsèques en la chapelle du salon. Une réception suivra au Centre Communautaire des Lettons de Montréal (3955, rue Provost, Lachine H8T 1M1). Au lieu de fleurs, des dons à la Fondation de l’hôpital du Sacré-Coeur.

PUSPUR, August (1921 - 2015)

Passed away peacefully on November 21, in his 94th year. Beloved father of Sofia, Kristine (André Lamontagne) and the late David. Stepfather to Renda Lasdin. Proud grandfather of Joël Karim, Amélia and Sabrina. Loving companion of Andra Lasdin for 26 years. Former husband of the late Françoise Parent, mother of his children. A pioneer and entrepreneur, he remained active, fiercely autonomous and sharp until the end. Recognized for his integrity, his honesty and his work ethic, August, born in Liepna, Latvia, was a pillar of the Montreal Latvian Community during more than 50 years, firmly committed and actively involved in keeping the Latvian culture alive. His deep love for his native homeland was rivalled only by his passion for the land he cultivated here, in St- Joseph-du-Lac - having planted no less than 4000 apple trees over the years! He demonstrated the same dedication toward his customers in the insurance business, which earned him success as an independent broker. A heartfelt thanks goes to Dr. Richard Gallo for his patient and kind care.
