Colin Roy Newhouse passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on March 14, age 79. He leaves to mourn his daughter Celia, son Nicolas, granddaughter Stella, grandson Milo and wife Kathie Montgomery.
Born in England, Colin studied linguistics at the Sorbonne and lived and taught in France. Colin fell in love with Canada and made it his home. At Canadair, he was Manager of Training before starting his business in leadership development working with leading local and international companies. His passion for people, his exceptional command of the French language and his positive spirit were widely appreciated.
Colin was President of the Quebec chapter of NGO Handicap International (now Humanity & Inclusion) and then served for several years as Secretary of its international board, traveling to post-conflict regions like Kosovo and Guatemala to support demining efforts.
Colin loved riding his motorbike along the open roads. An avid sailor, he and his wife discovered the beauty of the seas and reefs, snorkeling around the world.
