Elaine Schratz Wyse

Elaine was born on September 14, 1950, to Florence Mayrand Schratz and Richard Marcellus Schratz. She was beloved wife to Peter Wyse, devoted mother to Michelle (Dave Secko) and Carolyn (Alex Botros), and loving sister to Anthony, Joe, Louise, Sherry and Bonnie.

To all who knew her, Elaine was an orb of intensity, a kinetic force that few could keep up with. She had an opinion on EVERYTHING, and was never shy about expressing her views to anyone within earshot. She had an innate ability to relate to children and she took immense joy in her role as grandmother to Carver, Mia and, most recently, Peter.

Elaine stood out for her remarkable sense of honesty and fair play, values she strenuously espoused, practised, lived by. She was an obsessive list-maker and a fiend for organization, and we feel certain she is now busy systematizing the afterworld to make it a more efficient place.

Elaine experienced serious health issues over the last few years and it’s comforting to know that her struggles have ended. We have enormous gratitude for the Emergency staff of Lakeshore General Hospital who went to extraordinary lengths to ensure that Elaine enjoyed comfort and dignity in her final time.

Elaine will be honoured on Thursday, September 14, at a visitation beginning at 1 pm, followed by a reception at 4 pm, at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White, 5610 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal, Quebec. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation.
