It is with great sadness and profound relief that she is now at peace, that we are saying goodbye to
Ines Amadori, our Mother, our Nona and our Bizi, a few weeks shy of her 98th birthday. Ines passed
away peacefully on October 5th, 2022, with her daughters at her side, after several years battling
dementia. There are so many things we will remember about Mom. She was a very special woman,
incredibly smart, determined and slightly impatient. While she had strong opinions, she was wise
enough to allow them to evolve with the times. She had a series of different jobs over the years, most
notably becoming a real estate agent in her early 60's where she built a solid business for over 10
years. Devoted to her family and incredibly supportive of her children and grandchildren, she was
utterly confident in all our abilities and interests. She showed up, literally and figuratively, for each of us
at all the important moments over the years. She enjoyed 52 years of marriage with the love of her life,
Ted. Devastated by his passing in 1998, she embraced her faith, and with the support of her family,
found the strength to continue to live her life to the fullest. She enjoyed many outings with her lifelong
friends Mary, Olga, Flora and Lola (the Golden Girls). She continued to visit Florida with friends, and
traveled to see her relatives in Pesaro, Italy who welcomed her as the matriarch of the family. To her
delight, she was able to introduce some of her grandchildren to this extended family. She attended her
grandchildren's weddings, including the wonderful celebration that saw the entire family travel together
to Spain in 2010. She adored children and lived long enough to meet all 14 of her great-grandchildren.
Even as her memory started to fail, they always brought her so much happiness. Ines was preceded in
death by her parents Aldebrando and Rosa Marchionni, brother, Dante, her beloved husband, Torido
(Ted), her in-laws, Aldo and Guilia Amadori, sister-in-law Lola Cassiani, son-in-law Moose Morin and
nearly all of her friends and peers. She leaves behind an incredible legacy in her family: daughters
Doris and Rita and son-in-law Jean, son Dan and daughter-inlaw Barbra; niece Nancy and nephews
Marc and Gerald; her grandchildren and spouses Marc & Jess, Carla & Matthew, Paul & Lara, Sara &
Adam, Erica, Michael & Izaskun, David & Kimberly and Heather; as well as great nieces, a great
nephew and her 14 great grandchildren. She was well cared for in her final years by her family and
some truly wonderful caregivers. Special thanks to the Foxview Residence staff, especially Marina,
Zehara, Hannah, Shano, & Sawsan, as well as Danielle & Amy, Rose & Hanna, Marie and Maria, and
the rest of the second-floor caregivers for their loving care, empathy and compassion.
We also extend our sincere gratitude to our friend Joan, whose love and devotion to Mom throughout
this past year was such a help and comfort for our family. While dementia slowly took away her
memories, she left us with enough of them to last a lifetime. We take comfort in our belief that wherever
she is now, she remembers who she is and how many people loved her. Rest in peace, Mom....we will
never forget you.
A celebration of her life will take place with visitation on November 11, 2022 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM,
and November 12, 2022 at 10:00am, followed by a funeral service and interment at Centre Funéraire
Côte-Des-Neiges, 4525 Ch de la Côte-DesNeiges, Mtl. QC In lieu of flowers, please consider a
donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, 20 Eglinton Ave. W., Toronto ON, M4R 1K8.
(1-800-616-8166), in the hope that one day, we will find a way to eliminate dementia.
