

Born on August 9th, 1928 in Csesztve, Hungary. He grew up on a farm, attended a Polytechnic trade school earning several degrees and eventually enlisted in the Hungarian Air Force as a mechanic and test pilot.
During the 1956 Revolution he escaped to Europe and found work in Belgium. In time, he emigrated to Canada, making his home in Montréal. Self-reliant and independent, he was able to start a new life in a new country.
In 1965, he married Gizella Vados (deceased 2007) and he is survived by his daughters, Monica, Nancy and Christine. He leaves behind 6 beloved grandchildren, Róka and István, Ildikó and Kálmen, Michael and Alexina.
A complex and resilient man, his self sufficient nature led him to develop many skills. He made his own wine and cheese and repaired his cars. He had a passion for gardening and repurposing everything. He loved to laugh and above all else, nagyapa enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
The family will hold a private service on Monday, October 19. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Alzheimer Society of Canada will be appreciated.
