Jacqueline Dolores Edwards-Jones Findlay was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on January 23, 1929 to Seldegard Morrison and Basil Edwards-Jones. She left us on July 14, 2022 to join her parents, her sister Teddy and brother Bill and nephew Bob. She leaves behind nine nieces and nephews: The Aumonds - Nicky, David (Christina) and Jennifer; the Edwards-Jones - Kip, Michael, Barbara, Patrick, Janice (Kevin) and Margaret, as well as 13 great nieces and nephews and their children. Jackie loved her family and as one nephew put it ‘Jackie was just the best Aunt anyone could ask for’. She will be sorely missed.
Jackie spent her childhood in Toronto and as an adult lived and worked in Montreal, the Thousand Island area, Toronto and when she retired from The Hudson Bay Company where she managed its Inuit art warehouse, she settled in Bayfield, Ontario.
Jackie was conversational, knowledgeable (earning the title ‘Google Aunt’ at her 90th birthday party), and a lover of nature and animals. Her positive qualities are many: she was accepting and non-judgmental, caring, giving and generous especially with her family. She opened her heart, her home and her pocketbook whenever needed. She looked after her parents, an elderly aunt and a dear friend at the ends of their lives. Her nieces and nephews are left with innumerable positive memories that they will cherish for many years to come.
At Jackie’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Following cremation, her nieces and nephews will gather for a private burial service in Saint Philips Cemetery in Toronto.
