I remember first meeting Loek when he arrived in Montreal to join his 3 older brothers.  These were my amazing tall Dutch uncles, newly discovered half-brothers of my mother. I was about 16 when my sister, Doreen and I were bridesmaids for Loek's marriage to Moira and thinking how romantic it all was!

I am so sorry he is gone and send my condolences to Marinus and Betty and to Loek's daughter, Karen, and her family.

Karen, I was  so sorry to hear about the passing of your father. Though I never met him, I imagine he was a source of support for you and your family, especially during the past few years.

To Rinus and Betty my brother in law and sister in Montreal and to all Luke's family.  i am so sorry Luke is not with us anymore. I was in Montreal last summer and we all went out for dinner. Luke was eager to show me his apartment but he was very sad about Alan's death.
It is difficult to say goodbye to our loved ones, we just have to treasure our memories. We had good times when we were young and Luke lived with our family for awhile. I am still smiling about the time we all went horseback riding. None of us had been on a horse before so the horses were in charge. Great times Luke!

Our condolences go out to Karen and family, Erin, Betty and Renis, Susanne, Moira and all those who knew and loved Loek. As his Brother-in-law and friend  for over 60 years there are a lot of good memories that we shared. Dear Loek, from the moment we met you made me feel like part of the family. You and I used to have very meaningful conversations about life.
