It is with great sadness that we announce that Malgorzata (Margaret) Bialowas Burczak passed away on 23 January 2026, at the age of 72 years, after a courageous three-year battle with ovarian cancer. She is survived by her beloved husband Edward Burczak, her children Isabella and Arthur, and granddaughter Lucia.
Born on 3 July 1953 in Pulawy, Poland, Margaret developed a passion for aviation from her teenage years. Her determination and strength of character allowed her to achieve her dream of flight, becoming a parachutist, glider pilot and airplane pilot. After graduating from university in Lublin, she began working at the Swidnik Flying Club as an instructor-pilot and commercial pilot. She trained and guided many students, among them her husband. After migrating to Canada in 1984 with her husband and daughter, she maintained her love of flying, spending a brief period with the Montreal Soaring Council. She then began a long and fulfilling career at Bell Helicopter Canada as a helicopter manufacturing planner, where she worked for 25 years until her retirement.
Alongside her career, she devoted herself to raising her two children. Her dynamism, curiosity and generosity will be remembered by all those who knew her.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, January 30th from 5 – 9 PM at Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, 4525 chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal, H3V 1E7.
