

In 2006, she obtained her Honours Bachelors degree (“Red Diploma”) in international affairs and international organizations from the Northwest Academy of Public Administration in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
She returned to Kazakhstan where she worked as a news anchor, reading news bulletins on local television. She then worked for the Infrastructure Project of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as the Business Council for Sustainable Development of Kazakhstan.
In 2015, Nadya then moved to Moscow where she worked as a Business Development Manager at Avon Beauty Products. She loved living in the center of Moscow and enjoyed its numerous parks and cultural events.
In December 2016, she moved to Montreal to begin a new chapter of her life, where she met Nicolas three weeks later, in January 2017.
In the fall of 2017, she began her Bachelors degree in Business Technology Management at the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University.
In the fall of 2018, she began working as a service analyst in the Technical Publications department at Bombardier Business Aircraft, in Montreal. In August 2019, she received an award in recognition of her outstanding work at Bombardier.
In October 2019, Nadya and Nicolas got married after being engaged for over one year.
In November 2019, Nadya and Nicolas were blessed with the arrival of their baby girl. Five days later Nadya reposed after a long and arduous battle with cancer during her pregnancy. Nadya’s strength and grace inspired and touched the hearts of many members of the medical team at the Royal Victoria Hospital.
Nadya loved reading, and in particular Russian literature. She also enjoyed murder mysteries, logic games, chess, playing clue, hiking, rock-climbing, biking, skiing, skating and she loved being in nature. She was a regular participant in the local version (non-televised) of the famous soviet trivia game “Что Где Когда” (“Chto Gde Kogda” / “What Where When”). She was also faithful member of the “Sign of the Theotokos Orthodox Church”.
Nadya is mourned by her loving husband Nicolas Strapatsas, and their newborn daughter Effy in Montreal. Also, in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, by her mother Elena Shepeleva, her brother Mikhail Pavlov, her father Vyacheslav Pavlov, her step-mother Tatiana Pavlova, and her brother Kyrill Pavlov. Her in-laws also mourn her passing in Montreal, the United States, and Greece. She is also mourned by her friends, classmates and colleagues from Concordia and Bombardier in Montreal, as well as in Russia, Kazakhstan and several other countries, as she possessed a rare gift of making friends and creating meaningful connections.

The family will receive your condolences on Monday December 9th 2019 from 3pm to 5pm and 7pm to 10pm, Tuesday from 2pm to 5pm and 7pm to 10pm, and wednesday from 10am to 1pm at the Centre Funéraire Côte-de-Neiges, 4525 Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal, H3V 1E7.
The church service will be held at 1pm on Wedneday December 11th 2019, at LaChapelle de La Résurrection, 4601 Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montreal, H3V 1E7, followed by the burrial at the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges cemetary.
