Always full of surprises, Paul Savoie passed away suddenly on February 3, 2026. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Paul’s life at Résidences funéraires Collins Clarke MacGillivray White, 5610 Sherbrooke Ouest, on February 27, 2026.
If you knew him well, you would know this is the spot where he would insert the directions to the location in minute detail - turn by turn, landmark by landmark. But your GPS system can surely handle that.
Paul’s good humour and generous spirit touched everyone he met. Always ready for a laugh, Paul never let anyone walk by without a joke and a smile. Ever the salesman, he could be found constantly chatting up cashiers and bank tellers. In fact, only Paul could stop at a new restaurant in the woods on a family vacation and discover the owners owned the pizza parlour where he hung out at as a teen.
Always the life of the party, Paul was inevitably the last one off the dance floor. He absolutely loved to dance and did so whenever - and wherever - he could, including the middle of a store if the music was good. He also loved to sing and took part in many church choirs in his lifetime. Along with hymns, his love of Elvis and country music was legendary (and, at times, frustrating to his daughter).
He was born near Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec on July 6, 1948. His childhood in Quebec instilled a lifelong passion for hockey, and he loved talking about it with anyone who would listen. Neighbours always knew when the Habs scored, because his cheering could be heard for miles!
Paul’s passion in life was his family. He was preceded in death by his wife Margit, with whom he shared nearly 40 happy years of marriage; his sisters Madeleine and Shirley; and brothers Jean-Marie and Guy. He leaves behind his daughter Natasha (his angel); his grandchildren Ben and Sara, of whom he was incredibly proud; his sister Louise; his brother Yvon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be accepting visitors at the funeral home between 2 – 5pm. The service will be at 5pm. A small meal will follow for those who wish to join us. All friends and family are welcome. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home or Natasha’s home.
