Passed peacefully under a full moon, she is survived by her husband of 66 years, Peter Giacomin; children: Barbara (Marvin Bieman), Gordon (Pat Brewer), Monica (Guy Quinn), Victor (Wonita); and grandsons: Eric, Cy, Elliot, Luke, Carl, Liam and Peter. Born on a farm in Rimbey Alberta, she was a strong, kind, no-nonsense person, moving to Montreal in her early twenties for work and adventure. A wonderful cook and homemaker, she and Peter raised their family in Port Cartier, Quebec. She was an expert card player (excelling at bridge, her lifelong passion) and good at whatever she put her mind to including golf, weaving, sewing and rug-hooking. Quick with a smile, she will be greatly missed by family and all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held at Centre Funéraire Côtes-des-Neiges, 4525 Côtes-des-Neiges, in Montreal on May 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
