It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sandro Pavoni, who departed this life unexpectedly on May 9, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born in Ascoli Piceno, Italy, on November 13, 1938, Sandro was one of six children born to Maria Narducci and Giovanni Pavoni. In the late 1950s, he and his entire family made the courageous journey from Italy to Montreal, where Sandro would build not only a life, but a legacy.
A master mason by trade, Sandro was more than a craftsman — he was an artist. Through his work in the construction industry and his own contracting company, he transformed brick and stone into lasting beauty. Every project bore his hallmark: dedication, perfectionism, and pride. For Sandro, masonry was not just work — it was a calling, a form of expression.
Though soft-spoken and introspective, Sandro possessed a deep well of strength. Beneath his reserved nature lived a fierce loyalty and quiet courage. If you were lucky enough to be loved by him, you knew you had someone in your corner — unwavering, steadfast, and strong.
Sandro was also a man of many passions. He found peace and joy in gardening, tending his flowers and plants with the same care and precision he brought to his craft. In the kitchen, he was in his element — renowned for his homemade pizzas, hearty lasagnas, and the beloved olive all’ascolana that reminded everyone of his roots.
Above all, Sandro was a devoted family man. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Fernande Pavoni (born Brais), in 2017 — a loss he carried with grace and strength. He is survived by his cherished children Lisa Archambault-Pavoni, Catia Pavoni, and Alex Pavoni; and by his adored grandchildren Marcos, Lucas, and Olivia, who brought him immense pride and joy.
Sandro’s quiet wisdom, gentle humour, and unwavering love will remain etched in the hearts of all who knew him.
He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered — as a builder, a thinker, a nurturer, and most of all, a man who lived with integrity and gave everything to those he loved.
