Seymour was born in Halifax, NS and grew up in Toronto and Montreal. She attended Stanstead College, Dalhousie University and Concordia University. She graduated with honours (Concordia) in Marketing and Psychology, and post-graduate obtained her CFA.
She was an avid sports fan (GO HABS!) and played both soccer and rugby in high school, university and with the Montreal Irish until damage to both knees forced her off the field as a player but she went on to coach.
Her career spanned marketing, event planning and fundraising. Seymour loved music and although she didn’t play an instrument (the year of the cello is best forgotten) she had a lovely voice. Her tastes ranged from Mozart, the Beatles to Taylor Swift. She loved animals and both fostered and owned a dog. She enjoyed traveling and was a very good cook. She was a longtime volunteer at many of the shelters and food banks in the city.
Seymour is survived by her mother Isabel Amanda Boyd, father Richard Edward Ward, her grandfather Michael James Campbell Boyd (all in Montreal) and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from the Boyd, Ward, Bouchard and Rose families all over Canada and overseas.
A funeral has been arranged at Christ Church Cathedral, 635 rue Sainte-Catherine, Montreal, QC on Saturday July 20,2024 at 11am.The service will be live-streamed (montrealcathedral.ca/live). There will be a reception following the service for family and friends, locale TBC.
