My sincere condolence to Mr. Brathwaite, Gail and Andrew.  It is always sad at the beginning but later you will just remember her with fond and loving memories.  All of the interaction I've  had with her, including earlier this year when we spoke on the phone, has been that of a very kind and genuine person.  I will be forever grateful to her for the kindness and support which she showed to my Mum, taking her to church on Sundays and checking in on her from time to time to see how she was doing.  
May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

Auntie Sylvia was my God mother and a very close friend of my family.  I remember her as a kind and caring lady who always had a sweet smile. In the last few years, we were in contact fairly regularly since she watched the Sunday morning service from my church, online, and looked forward to sharing moments from the service with me. It was always a joy to chat with her. On behalf of my parents, Edward and Beryl Byer, my sister Faye and me, I would like to express condolences to Uncle Eustace, Andrew, Gail and the entire family circle.  Auntie Sylvia will truly be missed, but I know that she's watching over me with love.

On behalf of the Johnson family that lived in (Sinclair Alley) Hampden Rd in Ebenezer St Philip I am extending my condolences to the Silvia (Sinclair) Brathwaite's  entire family . As a young lad growing up in the village of Ebenezer, St Philip,  Barbados I remembered the morning Silvia and Mr Eustice Brathwaite got married. Silvia was always a gracious and loving person who greeted you with a warm welcoming smile and leaved you with words of wisdom on one's visit to their home in 'Sinclair Alley' on many occasions.  Sylvia had a remarkable quality of poise and grace that I think that was instilled in her by her mother 'Granny' Sinclair. Silvia you will always be remembered and loved. May you rest in peace as you take the hand of God in your journey to meet your ancestors.

On behalf of Rose, my family and I, we extend our deepest sympathy to Mr Brathwaite  and family on the passing of  Goddie "Sylvia".

I have only fond memories of my Godmother Sylvia Brathwaite who  treated me as her little brother, having been raised by her mother.

Although she immigrated to Canada,  where she spent many years, we always kept in touch.
She never forgot my birthdays, 
Father's Day, and other significant holidays such as Christmas and Easter.

Our last conversation was approximately two weeks before her death, and thankfully that will be forever etched in my memory. I will certainly miss her laughter and her voice, but I feel sure that she is resting comfortably.

Dear family of Sylvia,

I was a new member of Trinity  Memorial Church and  Sylvia welcomed me in her warm way.  She then broke her leg and it was a definite setback for her.  Under difficult circumstances I did visit her at a Rehabilitation Residence when an unwelcome visitor was present and I felt badly about that.  My understanding is that Sylvia was a contributing member of Trinity in many wonderful ways.

A memory that has lingered with me all these years, is Auntie's singing a Christmas solo at Granny's Anglican church in St. Philip, Barbados. 
Such a beautiful voice praising her God. She was a good person,  a simple description,  but embodies every attribute she exemplified!
