Ting Chow Yee

Mr. Ting Chow Yee passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on November 17th, 2024 (Montreal, Quebec) just shy of his 96th birthday, leaving a lasting impact that will motivate generations to follow. Ting Chow lived a life marked by unwavering determination and resilience, transforming the lives of many especially the ones closest to him.

Born 1928 in Toisan, China, he started his life in a rural farm. At an early age, he decided to move to Hong Kong to create a better life for himself. During his time there, he worked as a construction worker to be able to afford emigrating to Canada in 1952. While in Canada, he worked at a commercial laundry where he earned money to support his parents back home. After a few years, Ting Chow went back to Hong Kong where he met and married his beautiful wife Mrs. Chui Lai (Tang) Yee in 1958 prior to their return to Canada. Together, they bought into a Chinese laundry. His wife worked at the laundry and helped raised their first son Stephen and their second son Tony while he became a chef at a Chinese restaurant working to provide for his family. As time progressed, he bought their own house, had their first car and worked at numerous Chinese restaurants before retiring at the age of 60. In retirement, he spent that time with family, taking care of his grandchildren, going for long walks, gardening, solving word puzzles, watching TV, baking almond cookies for Christmas, attending church on Sundays and of course grocery shopping for bargains.

He is cherished by his wife Chui Lai (Tang) Yee, his sons Stephen (Annie) and Tony (Gina), and his grandchildren Michael, Jessica (Bojan) and Matthew. Family and friends knew Ting Chow, as a man of few words but great deeds, faithful towards God, and a gentle joker with a knack for making everyone laugh. He held heartfelt pride in having a supportive wife that is always by his side and the sacrifices he made to ensure his sons received an education resulting in a better opportunity for them and their families.

Visitation: Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 2 pm to 8 pm and Wednesday, November 27, 2024, from 9 am to 1 pm.

Funeral Services: November 27, 2024 at 1pm
