Young Soon Wang

January 25, 1960 – August 14, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Young Soon Wang, beloved mother, sister, and friend. Born in South Korea on January 25, 1960, she immigrated to Canada in 2004 with her two children, where she built a life rooted in love, creativity, and cultural tradition.

Young Soon’s passions were as vibrant as the flowers she arranged and the paintings she created. She found beauty and meaning in the Korean tea ceremony and dedicated herself to the timeless art of Korean folk painting. Her artistry was not only a personal pursuit but also a gift she shared with her community. In Montreal, she worked tirelessly to learn, teach, and nurture the Korean folk painting society, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire for years to come.

Beyond her talents, Young Soon will be remembered for her warmth, her devotion to her family, and the gentle strength she carried through every chapter of her life. She touched the hearts of many and leaves behind cherished memories that will never fade.

She will be deeply missed by her children, family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to know her.

May her spirit live on in the beauty of her art and the love she shared so generously.

1960년 1월 25일 – 2025년 8월 14일

사랑하는 어머니이자 자매이자 친구였던 왕 영순님께서 2025년 8월 14일, 우리 곁을 떠나셨음을 깊은 슬픔 속에 알립니다. 1960년 1월 25일 대한민국에서 태어나시고, 2004년 두 자녀와 함께 캐나다로 이주하시어 새로운 삶을 시작하셨습니다.

왕 영순님은 꽃꽂이와 한국 전통 다례, 그리고 무엇보다 **민화(한국 전통 민속화)**에 깊은 열정을 가지고 계셨습니다. 예술은 단순한 취미를 넘어 삶의 중심이었고, 그 아름다움과 가치를 나누기 위해 헌신하셨습니다. 특히 몬트리올에서는 민화를 배우고 가르치며, 한국 민화의 공동체를 키워가는 데 온 정성을 쏟으셨습니다. 그 열정과 발자취는 많은 이들에게 영감을 주며 오래도록 이어질 것입니다.

무엇보다도 왕 영순님은 따뜻한 마음과 가족에 대한 헌신, 그리고 언제나 곁을 지켜주던 온화한 힘으로 기억될 것입니다. 그녀를 알던 모든 이들에게 소중한 추억과 사랑을 남기셨습니다.

자녀와 가족, 그리고 함께한 많은 분들의 마음 속에 왕 영순님은 영원히 살아계실 것입니다.

그분의 예술과 사랑이 남긴 빛이, 앞으로도 우리 삶 속에서 이어지길 기원합니다.
