I first met Al at the International Airport in Madrid Spain and liked him immediately. We have many fond memories of his and Connie's visits while we were stationed in Spain, Puerto Rico and Italy - and on his visits returning from Florida. We miss Al very much. He always had a story to tell (sometimes more than once) from his days in submarines and his stories always seemed to have a humorous ending. He was generous. We were home on leave in NY, my car had broken down and we had planned to take the kids to Disneyland - Al did not hesitate to offer us the use of his new Dodge camper for the trip. My father passed away when I was 16 - Al was my second father. From one sailor to another, I wish him fair winds and following seas, his loving son-in-law, Paul.

In Loving Memory of Albin Sabol.  Nicole, Carlos, Nicolas, and Sofia

I have many fond memories of grandpa.  The visits to my parents house in Maryland, the times we spend at Cherry Stone, and of course when I would visit New York.  He was a generous man and a strong one to go through WWII on a submarine. I couldn't even begin to imagine.  It's a passing of an era.  Grandpa, I love you and hope you are enjoying your time with grandma and the rest that went before you.  Tell Grandma I said hi and miss her too.  Mom and Aunt Karen; I am so sorry. Very sorry to hear of Uncle Al's passing.  He was my mom, Marge's, brother.  When she and my dad (Ray) took me to start law school in Boston in the late summer of 1982, we stopped to visit Uncle Al and Aunt Connie along the way.  I remember visiting West Point with them.  Uncle Al had a great sense of humor.  I will miss him.

So sorry to hear of Al passing away. We spent many a winter in Florida with Al and Connie. We also went on other vacations with them and visited them at their home. There was never a dull moment being around Al.
